PURPOSE:To enable a 3-way clutch to be put in its standard way of use by connecting a driving shaft and a driven shaft with respective shaft insertion holes of an input and output shafts, securely fixing an outer ring on a housing at the time of 2-way clutch and installing a torque transmitting member on the outer ring at the time of 3-way clutch. CONSTITUTION:An output side shaft 3 and an input side shaft 6 are supported on the internal diameter face of an outer ring 1. A driven shaft and a driving shaft are spline-connected in respective shaft insertion holes 5, 7, and both shaft 3, 6 are connected with a pin 17 through a flexible ring 19. Furthermore, in a wedge-shaped space 10 between the output side shaft 3 and the outer ring 1, rolling elements 14, 15 performing clutch action are arranged with a cage 12 by insetting a spring 16 between them. When it is used as a 2-way clutch, the outer ring 1 is securely fixed on a housing, and when it is used as a 3-way clutch, a torque transmitting member is installed on the outside of the outer ring 1 to convey torque by absorbing excessive torque with the spring 16 and the flexible ring 19. |
