发明名称 VERFAHREN ZUM MESSEN DES SAUERSTOFF-ZU-METALL-VERHAELTNISSES IN OXIDISCHEN KERNBRENNSTOFFEN
摘要 1504387 Determining oxygen/metal ratio GES FUER KERNFORSCHUNG mbH 30 Oct 1975 [3 May 1975] 44866/75 Heading G1N The oxygen/metal ratio in oxidized nuclear fuel is determined by heating the fuel to 650-1300‹C, measuring the oxygen potential of the fuel by a solid electrolyte sensor using reference which will not destroy the nuclear fuel and then determining the ratio from the sensor output by means of a calibrating graph or a computer and a calibrating function. Preferably the temperature is 900 Œ 0.15‹C, the solid electrolyte therein oxide doped with yttrium oxide (3-7 mol %) and/or calcium oxide (3-7 mol %) and the reference is a metal with its oxide, preferably Ni/NiO or Fe/FeO. The sensor is mounted in a regulatable furnace and comprises a ceramic tube or tubes (8,9) with a solid electrolyte crucible 10 mounted at one end. Reference material 11 is mounted inside the crucible and is attached to the inner tube 9 and a platinum wire 3. The sample 12 under test is held against the outside of the solid electrolyte by a cromic (13) and platinum (4) electrode. In an alternative embodiment, crucible 10 is made of calcium oxide doped zirconium dioxide and detachably connected to tube 8. Discs of doped thorium oxide solid electrolyte are interposed between the reference material 11 and crucible and between the sample 12 and crucible. Equations for calculating the oxygen/metal ratio from the sensor output are given.
