PURPOSE: To firmly fix a friction member to a support plate by providing a metallic support plate, a metal mesh element welded to the upper surface thereof, an adhesive for a structure, and a friction member in which a part of the metal mesh element is embedded and which is fitted to the support plate. CONSTITUTION: A metallic support plate 12 and a metal mesh 16 are cleaned in a degrease process, and then the metal mesh 16 is welded to the upper surface 18 of the support plate 12 by plural welding parts 20. Subsequently, a support plate/metal mesh assembly is subjected to grit blasting to increase the surface roughness. Next, a series of punches 22 are inserted in holes 14 of the support plate 12 under the metal mesh 16 and pressed to the bottom of the metal mesh 16 so that a non-welded region of the metal mesh 16 is lifted above the upper surface of the support plate 12. After that, an adhesive is applied to the upper surfaces 18 of the metal mesh 16 and the support plate 12. Subsequently, the assembly is disposed in a hardening mold 26, a uncompacted friction material 28, 6-20% wt of the friction material is poured in a cavity 30, a preform 32 is disposed, and heat and pressure are applied to harden the above. |
