摘要 PURPOSE: To obtain a new Bacillus thurigiensis isolate capable of terminating insect pests of the order Lepedoptera by bringing an effective amount of Bacillus thurigiensis (B.t.) PS81F or its variant into contact with the insect pests. CONSTITUTION: An amount effective to terminate a pest, of B.t. PS81F (NRRL B-18424) or its mutant, e.g. the mutant obtained by mutation induction by ethyl methanesulfonate, is brought into contact with insect pests of the order Lepedoptera. The pest living in a soil is terminated by mixing the B. t. PS81F into granular feeds and placing the granular feeds mixed with the B.t. and containing an attractant on or in the soil when seeds of a plant obviously eaten by the pet is sowed. Further, the insect of the order Lepedoptera is terminated by introducing delta endotoxin genes encoding a protein of 13266 dalton obtained from the B.t. PS81F and having activities against the pest of the order Lepedoptera through suitable vectors into the host microbes (e.g. Pseudomonas species, Azotobacter species) to transform the microbes and further administrating the transformed microbes to the insect of the order Lepedoptera or the environment of the insect.
