PURPOSE:To prevent the rigidity of a housing from reducing and to manufacture a shape steel product excellent in dimensional accuracy by connecting housings of both rolling mills through cotters or connecting pins so that they intersect at right angles with a rolling pass line. CONSTITUTION:The housing H of a universal rolling mill 1 and the housings (h) of an edging mill 2 are made so that they are independent of each other in the rolling mill and since the housing of the edging mill 2 is made in a C shape, the housing is higher in rigidity than the housing in which a wedge is inserted only. The housings of both rolling mills are connected with each other firmly through the cotters or the tapered connecting pins 5 so that they intersect at right angles with the rolling pass line. Consequently, through a large load is acted along the pass line or an excessive thrust is loaded on the roll when a shape steel is rolled, the twist of the housing or slippage of the pass line between both rolling mills is not generated and rolled products are improved in dimensional accuracy. |
