Device which prevents catching of the fingers and which can be fitted on doors and is intended to ensure the safety of children. The device consists of 4 rigid or semi-rigid plates (Figure 4 Nos. 1-1'-2-2') which are of variable width depending on the angle of opening of the door to be protected and which are joined and hinged with respect to each other by bonding a strong and flexible material 3 over the whole of their inner face, creating a continuity and thus providing the one-way hinges of the system intended to create an obstacle preventing the passage of the fingers and hands of babies and children into the opening of the doors. This invention is fixed by bonding lateral plates 2 and 2' on the upright of the door 5 and the upright of the doorframe facing it 4. <IMAGE>
