The device comprises a clamp P, integral with a head 5 located on a moveable carriage C which is mounted on a straight longitudinal guide 7, and is formed by two coaxial rods 2a-2b provided with bent ends 2a-2b which can slide via the inside of the tubular rod 4 joined to the head 5. The clamp P opens and closes through the simultaneous and symmetrical action of two bars 17a-17b and a spring 19 which alternately pushes the discoidal ends 18a-18b of said rods 2a-2b which are moved by cams 22 with straight flanks 23a-23b. The moveable carriage C is actuated by means of a rocker bar 9 provided with oscillating movement, of variable amplitude, about the point of pivoting 14 which is moveable and adjustable as desired.
