<p>The base of the device (1) has two depressions with support surfaces (2) into which the person steps, without wearing shoes. Sensors (5) in the side and end walls (3, 4) detect the length and width of the user's feet. Data from the sensors are fed to a microprocessor. The length and breath of the feet are displayed numerically in windows on the control panel (6). An attachment to the device is inserted into shoes which are likely to fit the customer and the internal length and breadth of the shoes are also registered on the control panel.
