The coupling for joining two chain links (1,2) includes two U-shaped coupling brackets (3,4). Each coupling bracket is provided with two pairs of inwards protruding location shoulders (10,11,12,13).$ A coupling insert (5) with matching ring collars (18-21) is used to link the two U-shaped brackets (3,4) by interlocking with their internal shoulders.
