Fluoroallylamine derivs. of formula (I) and their pharmacologically acceptable acid addn. salts are prepared. In (I), R1 and R2 each= H, Cl or F; R3= H or C1-4 alkyl; and X= O or S (I) are monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors capable of preferentially inhibiting MAO-B. At suitable low doses MAO-A is not inhibited, avoiding the cheese effect. (I) are thus useful for treating depression or for potentiating l-dopa in treatment of parkinsonism.
