Material (I) comprises a plastic binder (II) and at least one filler consisting of particles obtd. by pulverising resin-contg. Aramid paper (III). (I) is produced by mixing (III) with (II), which is in the form of a viscous liq. Wt. ratio (II):(III) = (95:5)-(50:50), pref. (90:10)-(70:30); (II) is a polyester, epoxy or phenolic resin or a thermoplastic; (III) is pulverised by milling to a particle size of not above 5 (1-2)mm. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is useful for filling cavities and as a core- and edge-filling material, esp. for filling the cell spaces in honeycomb cores to produce reinforced fastening points (partic. in honeycomb cores made of (III). Provides a light-wt., strength, non-flammable material with high abrasion resistance, good mechanical workability (drilling, filling, etc.), high chemical resistance, high weathering resistance, low water absorption, high thermal stability and good ageing resistance.
