PURPOSE:To perform the extremely accurate evaluation of durability, by such an extremely simple method that the electric resistance values in the uniaxial direction of carbon-containing refractory and the direction crossing the same at right angles are measured and the ratio thereof is calculated. CONSTITUTION:In measurement, for example, the voltages and the current values in an uniaxial direction and the direction crossing the same at right angles are measured by a voltage drop method to calculated each electric resistance values and the ratio thereof is calculated. Thus calculated ratio of the electric resistance values is extremely remarkably correlated to the durability of carbon-containing refractory and changed to some degree corresponding to the properties and the shape of the tested refractory but, if the ratio of the electric resistance values in the unidirectional direction and the direction crossing the same at right angles is within a range of 0.8-1.2, there is no graphite orientation and it is judged that durability is excellent. |
