PURPOSE:To obtain the deodorant having the conspicuous effect for the odor of sulfur, fatty acid, and nitrogen containing compound by using the fatty acid ester of polyhydric alcohol substantially in the nonaqueous state. CONSTITUTION:The title deodorant contains fatty acid ester of polyhydric alcohol in nonaqueous or low water-containing state. Sorbitan fatty acid ester is preferable as fatty acid ester of polyhydric alcohol. Oleic acid is preferable as fatty acid. The mono- di-, sesqui-, or triesters of the above-described compounds are used. Also the fatty acid ester of polyhydric alcohol added with ethylene oxide can be used, and when the number of added mols of ethylene oxide increases, hydrophilicity is generated, and the water catching performance and hydration performance increase, but the barrier performance and water substitution performance which contribute to the odor control action reduces, and HLB of 10 or less is preferable. These deodorant compositions are ordinarily used substantially in the nonaqueous or low water containing state of 10wt.% or less. |
