PURPOSE:To reduce size and thickness by securing two sets of piezoelectric elements in which vibrations of mode of longitudinal and perpendicular directions are generated at a tuning fork base formed by providing cut grooves at both ends of a square plate of an elastic material, and providing drivers at both sides of the base. CONSTITUTION:Cutouts 2a, 2b are provided at the centers of both sides of a square substrate 1 made of an elastic material to form a tuning fork, and drivers 3a-3d protrude at upper and lower end of the substrate 1. Longitudinal mode generating first piezoelectric elements 4a, 4b are secured to the center of the longitudinal face of the substrate 1, and a tuning fork mode generating second piezoelectric elements 5a-5d are secured near the drivers 3a-3d. Dimensional relationship is so set that intrinsic vibration frequencies generated when a voltage is applied to the first and second elements approach, and power is supplied in parallel to generate a composite resonance. |
