The copy sheet feed passes a cleaning element (16a) whcich removes any loose paper dust etc.. The copy sheets are then passed through the toner transfer stage and fixer. The cleaning stage can be removed as one unit for repair while the image section (U) is mounted in another removable module. The paper dust is removed by a scraper and passed into a collecting duct. For added effect the collector is charged with the opposite polarity to the dust. An adhesive strip feed can also collect the dust. The dust does not mix with the toner in the reservoir.
