PURPOSE:To prevent a difference in transmission condition from being generated between 1st branched light and 2nd branched light owing to disturbance by transmitting the sent light consisting of the 1st branched light and 2nd branched light from a transmission part to a reception part by one polarization maintaining optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The transmission part 1 makes the plane of polarization of the 1st branched light and the plane of polarization of the 2nd branched light mutually different in direction by a 1st polarization plane rotating means 16a. In this state, the two characteristic polarization planes of the same polarization plane maintaining optical fibers 14b are used to transmit the 1st branched light and 2nd branched light from the transmission part 1 to the reception part 2 without any mutual interference. The reception part 2 equalize the directions of the planes of polarization of the 1st branched light and 2nd branched light which are sent to each other by the polarization plane rotating means 16b to multiplex the 1st branched light and 2nd branched light. Consequently, trouble such as the deterioration in reception sensitivity due to disturbance to the transmission line is prevented from being caused. |
