PURPOSE:To protect a ceramic lining layer from the thermal stress when roll shafts are engaged with both ends of a hollow hole of a roll body by interposing an intermediate layer made of the viscoelastic material between the roll body and the roll shaft. CONSTITUTION:Roll shafts 20 are engaged with a hollow hole of a roll body 10, and the viscoelastic material adjusted in liquid state is filled into a clearance between the two for solidification. An intermediate layer 30 made of the viscoelastic material is thereby formed between the roll shafts 20 and the roll body 10. The temperature is changed at the time of practical use, and the thermal stress is thus generated by the difference between the thermal expansion quantity of a metal hollow material 11 and a ceramic lining layer 12. The end parts of the body 10 are the weakest part under the influence of the thermal stress, but the thermal stress of these parts is absorbed by the viscoelastic deformation of the intermediate layer 30 to prevent the crack initiation. The metal cylinder 11 and the ceramic lining layer 12 are adhered to each other with an adhesive layer 13. |
