PURPOSE:To enable simple changeover by attaching and detaching the cartridge of an image forming device to exchange said cartridge, selecting the mode for copying and changing over the process conditions to the conditions meeting the copying mode cooperatively with said selection. CONSTITUTION:A cartridge for copying a positive original image to a positive image is exchanged with a cartridge 13' having a developing device 17' for an N-P mode in the processing stage in the N-P mode for copying the negative original picture to the positive image. When the cartridge 13' is inserted into the device, a cam 52 lifts a turning light shielding plate 37 up to the position where said plate overlaps partly on a stationary light shielding plate 36 thereby closing the blank exposing path from a lamp toward the reflecting surface of a shutter 30. The plate 37 pushes further a changeover switch 40 to change over the same to the N-P mode side. When copying is executed in the copying part set in such a way, the light from the lamp is kept free from making blank exposing even if the shutter 30 exists in the solid line position as the plate 37 is held closed. Since the switch 40 is held on the N-P mode side, the polarity of the voltage impressed on an electrifier for transfer changes over and the quantity of the light from the light source of image exposing is so controlled as to meet the N-P mode. |
