<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a resin compsn. with good printing effect and good curing properties when an active radiation curable ink is prepd. therefrom the reacting phenolic hydroxyl groups of a phenol resin with a monobasic carboxylic acid anhydride and removing a formed monobasic carboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:A resin compsn. is obtd. by reacting phenolic hydroxyl groups of a phenol resin (e.g. a rosin-modified phenol-formaldehyde resin) with a monobasic carboxylic acid anhydride (e.g. acetic anhydride or butyric anhydride) and removing a formed monobasic carboxylic acid by means a proper method such as vacuum distillation or washing with water. A printing ink compsn. can be prepd. by dispersing a required pigment using an ordinary method in this resin compsn. and, if necessary, incorporating various additives. This compsn. exhibits a printing effect better than that of the conventional ones and good curing properties when an active radiation curable ink is prepd. therefrom and therefore, the application range of a printing ink compsn. can be widened.</p> |
