PURPOSE:To make possible smooth start without unpleasant vibrations, by adjusting a throttling mechanism positioned between a pump and a pressure chamber of an accumulator in such a way that the higher the transmission torque is, the greater its communication opening is. CONSTITUTION:A throttling mechanism 9 is provided between a pump P and a pressure chamber (a) of an accumulator A, and the communication opening of the throttling mechanism 9 is automatically adjusted with the speed change operation in such a way that the greater the transmission torque of clutches C0-C3 required for starting the car body, the greater the communication opening. During the period from the time when the speed change operation is carried out to the time when the car body is started to move, the operation feeling is kept the same or approximately the same and good even at any state of the speed change, and a half-clutched state can be obtained for a suitable period at any speed change state so that smooth starting without unpleasant vibrations becomes possible. |
