摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the optical waveguide consisting of a uniform org. single crystal by packing a prescribed org. compd. into the hollow core enclosed by a clad to attain an amorphous quasi-solid state and then subjecting the compd. to a heat treatment at about the recrystallization temp. CONSTITUTION:The optical waveguide consists of the clad layer and the core layer and the core layer is enclosed by the clad layer. The org. compd. which is a nonlinear optical material is melted and the melt thereof is injected into the hollowed core layer from the end of the clad layer to fill the layer. The core layer and clad layer packed with the melt are cooled down to the m. p. of the org. compd. or below to put the org. compd. into the amorphous quasi- solid state. The compd. is heat treated at about the recrystallization temp. below the m. p. and the single crystal is obtd. by the quasi-solid phase reaction. The optical waveguide consisting of the uniform single crystal of the org. compd. having the excellent nonlinearity is obtd. in this way.
