Prodn. of organic glasses by polymerising a li. compsn. comprising 20-80 wt.% of an oligomeric prod. provided with two terminal allyl gps, of formula (I); 20-50 wt.% of a monomeric prod. provided with at least 4 terminal allyl gps, of formulae (II) or (III); and 0-35 wt.% of reactive diluent(s) (IV) contg allyl, vinyl or methacryl gps. Pref. (I) is the prod. of the transesterification of diallyl- carbonate and diethyleneglycol in a molar ratio of 2:1; (II) and (III) are obtd. by transalkylation of diallylcarbonate and an aliphatic polyol contg. at least 4 OH gps, eg. penterythritol; and (IV)s diethylene glycol bis(allylcarbonate), vinyl acetate and methyl methacrylate. R is Me, Ef or -CH20C(=O)O CH2H=CH2, and n is 0 or 1. The compsn. is useful for the prodn. of organic glasses having high abrasion strength.
