Coating or moulding compsn. or material (I) contains a lactone-silicone block copolymer of formula (II) (with X = -R2-H), A, B = Me or a gp. of formula -Z-(CaH2aO)b(CdH2dO)eR2H; R1 = 1-30C alkyl, opt. substd. Ph or phenyl-(2-3C alkylene) with opt. substd. Ph ring; R2 = polyester gp. with mol. wt. 200-100,000 obtd. by ring-opening polymerisation; Z = divalent gp. linking the Si to a polyoxyalkylene gp.; x = 3-1000; y = 0-50; a, d = 2-4; b, e = 0-100; b+e = at least 1; at least 50 wt.% of all R1 gps. must be 1-30C alkyl. USE/ADVANTAGE - The invention provides a compsn. (II) which has excellent compatibility with PPG and polylactone-polyols, and also has the properties of silicones (surface gloss, thermal stability, etc.); (II) is therefore useful in paints, PU moulding materials, etc.
