LIQUID-COOLED MUTLIPLE-DISC BRAKE

The invention concerns a liquid-cooled multiple-disc brake (29) as used in transmission systems. The aim of the invention is to improve the cooling of a disc brake (29) which is exposed to high stresses owing to frequent use. In order to increase the throughput of coolant through the brake (29) and to intensify the coolant circulation, an inner brake disc carrier (10) is designed as a feeder wheel (48). A preferred application for a disc brake (29) of this kind is in the transmissions of heavy construction plant, e.g. wheeled loaders, since liquid-cooled disc brakes in this kind of utility vehicle are frequently used at full engine power. The use of the disc brake (29) of the invention is not, however, limited to this particular application.
