<p>A versatile set up assembly (10) for holding a workpiece during a machining operation includes upper (12) and lower (11) plates that can be selectively hingedly connected and/or disconnected along spaced parallel axes of connection, thereby permitting either end of the upper plate (12) to be hingedly raised with respect to the lower plate (11), or the upper plate (12) removed entirely. Two rolls (19) are rotatably mounted to one of the plates (11 or 12) along two spaced, parallel axes. The other plate (12 or 11) has two pairs of connectors, each pair (50A and 50B) axially aligned with and adapted to be moved into precise engagement with the outer ends of one of the rolls (19) along an axis of connection (28) to form an accurate and repeatable hingeable connection between the plates (11 and 12) along the axis of connection (28).</p> |
