Compact memory module for data memory card of an image processor.

A compact memory module (5) is produced by implanting, on either side of a rectangular shaped printed circuit board (7), elementary integrated memory circuits. These elementary integrated circuits are rectangular. When implanted, the large sides of the elementary integrated circuits are parallel to the large sides of the board. The board is subsequently plugged (12) edgewise into a mother card (1) of the image processor. It is shown that this moreover enables amplifiers (18-21) for controlling this memory to be implanted in the module, thus further saving space. It is thereby possible to produce a block of 16 megabytes on a mother card surface area of only 240 cm<2>. The boards measure just 15 mm in height so as to conform to the VME standard. <IMAGE>
