PURPOSE:To obtain the slider of a floating magnetic head which is floated stably even if the inflow angle of air is changed, by providing a groove part in the middle part in the lengthwise direction of a plane part of a slider rail and constituting said plane part with an air inlet-side plane part and an air outlet-side plane part. CONSTITUTION:A slider rail 2 formed on the lower face of a slider body 1 consists of a slope part 3, an air inlet-side plane part 4, a groove part 5 to the side of the slider body 1, and an air outlet-side plane part 6 which are arranged in order from the air inlet side in the lengthwise direction, and an air inlet part of the plane part 6 is formed to such slope 7 that the area of air inflow is reduced. When the slider body 1 is placed in the position corresponding to the start or the end of magnetic disc, air A is flowed in from the face of the slider body 1. In this case, the slider body 1 is floated stably by the bearing action due to the slope part 3 and the air inlet-side plane part 4 and that due to the slope part 3 and th air inlet-side plane part 4 and that due to the slope part 7 and the air outlet-side plane part 6. Since these bearing actions are wedge bearig actions, the slider body is easily floated even in a low speed state. |
