PURPOSE: To obtain a cosmetic or a composition for dermatology improving a preserving state of the subject composition containing an oil and fat phase and preventing oxidative deterioration of an activating compound by using a modified diorganopolysiloxane as an antioxidant. CONSTITUTION: This cosmetic or composition for dermatology is incorporated with diorganopolysilioxanes expressed by formula I [R is an alkyl or a phenyl; B is R or A; (a) is 0-200; (b) is 0-50; A is expressed by formula II (R1 is H or an alkyl; R2 is H, OH, an alkyl, etc.; R3 is H, OH or an alkyl; R4 is H or an alkyl; R5 is H, OH or an alkoxy; Y is a bifunctional group)] and formula III (c) is 1-20; (d) is 2-20, (c+d)>=3} as antioxidants. This antioxidant exhibits extremely improved solubility in an oil and fat-like substance and exhibits an excellent antioxidative property to peroxidation of a polysaturated lipid, and simultaneously exhibits an antioxidative property to a substance readily oxidizable with heat or light.
