The invention concerns monoclonal antibodies directed against R-(-)-oxaprotiline and its metabolite R-(-)-oxaprotiline beta-glucuronide, derivatives thereof, processes for the preparation of these antibodies and their derivatives, hybridoma cell lines that secrete the desired monoclonal antibodies, a process for the preparation of such hybridoma cells, kits containing the monoclonal antibodies and/or their derivatives, and the use of the monoclonal antibodies and/or their derivatives for the qualitative and quantitative determination of R-(-)-oxaprotiline and R-(-)-oxaprotiline beta-glucuronide and for the treatment of a toxicosis due to an overdose of R-(-)-oxaprotiline.
