A gutter protection device (10) for preventing damage to an eaves-mounted gutter (12) against which a ladder (20) is leaned. A polyethylene foam block forms the body (28) of the device. A semi-circular recess (32) in one face (30) of the body (28) can be fitted on the lip of the gutter (12). A pair of pins (34) which project from the body (28) into the recess (32) are then hooked behind the gutter lip (12d) to mount the device (10) on the gutter (12). A bearing surface (38) of the body (28) has a pair of slots (42, 44) which receive the legs (22, 24) of the ladder (20). One slot (42) closely receives the leg (22) of the ladder (20) to assist in preventing sideward sliding of the ladder (20). The other slot (44) is oversized so that it can receive the legs (22, 24) of ladders (20) having various sizes. |
