PURPOSE:To enhance crystallinity and to increase critical current density by carrying out crystal growth in a molten ceramic molded body with microcrystals having superconducting characteristics dispersed in the molded body as nuclei. CONSTITUTION:Powder consisting of fine crystal grains of Bi2O3, SrCO3, CaCO3, CuO, etc., ensuring superconducting characteristics is molded and this molded body is partially melted at a temp. above the m.p. in the presence of oxygen and cooled to obtain a molten ceramic molded body having a compsn. ratio ensuring superconducting characteristics and contg. dispersed microcrystals having superconducting characteristics. The ceramic molded body is then held at a temp. below the m.p. and closest to the m.p. in the presence of oxygen to carry out crystal growth with the microcrystals as nuclei.
