In the case of a belt conveyor with two parallel-running belts 1 with carriers, the movement of the belts must be synchronized, and according to the prior art this is done by means of electrical arrangements. In the case of the present conveyor a radial simplification of the synchronization is achieved in that only a single belt 1 is used, which crosses under the conveyor, and the two parallel parts of which on the upper side of the conveyor are in this way synchronized. The conveyor thus produced is cheaper and more reliable than more familiar conveyors and is not dependent on an electrical power source. <IMAGE>
