PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a salient-pole type rotor by circumferentially extending the head end of the pole of a salient pole, mounting an insulating member between adjacent extensions, and forming a rotor nearly in a cylindrical shape, thereby reducing wind loss and stress produced at the head. CONSTITUTION:Extensions 2b are linearly projected circumferentially from the end of the head 2a of a salient pole 2, vent passages are formed to axially surround space 3 between the poles with the extension 2b of the pole heads 2a of the adjacent poles 2, insulating members 12 are mounted by bonding between the extensions 2b to insulate between the adjacent extensions, and preventing flowout of cooling air to the stator side. In this manner, a nearly cylindrical shape is formed with the heads 2a and the extensions 2b, thereby reducing the wind loss due to the rotation of the salient poles. The rigidity can be strengthened by increasing the thickness T of the extensions 2b, thereby obtaining a rotor having high reliability. |
