The i.e. engine cylinder head has an attached exhaust gas elbow, with the elbow pipe (6) projecting into the cylinder head (1) exhaust gas duct (3). A seal (8) in a bore (4) is coaxial with the exhaust pipe and surrounds it. It is pressed firmly in place by a flanged disc (9), which also encloses the pipe and is fixed to the cylinder head by bolts (11). ADVANTAGE - No craks, due to absence of welding.
