The fastener has two leaves (1,2) that are joined together at one end by a hinge (3) and their other ends (4,5) are joined to each end (6,7) of the bracelet. The lower leaf (1) has a trapezoidal hole (8) in it and the upper leaf (2) has two projections (9,10) that engage in this when the leaves are folded together. The parallel sides (17,18) of the hole are perpendicular to the bracelet's longitudinal direction and its convergent sides (11,12) are directed towards the hinge. The projections each have an edge (13,14) that is shaped to cooperate with one of the convergent sides of the hole.
