PURPOSE:To prepare a document economically and to prevent useless consumption of a carrying member by employing a common heating element and serving for printing and plate-making while traveling a carrying member common for a recording paper and a heatsensitive perforating original plate by a predetermined distance in the opposite direction from that when perforation is performed during predetermined time period. CONSTITUTION:A printer/plate-making machine comprises a thermal transfer printing means 1 for printing such as character information onto a recording paper through heatsensitive transfer system and a stencil original paper perforating means 2 for thermally perforating a heatsensitive perforating original plate, i.e. a stencil original paper. These two means 1, 2 share a heating element, i.e. a thermal head 3, and a carrying member for the stencil original paper and the recording paper, i.e. an ink donor film 4. A carrying member drive control means 5 executes carrying control during recording and perforating times corresponding to a content specified by a mode specifying means 6 while simultaneously travels the ink donor film 4 by a predetermined distance in the opposite direction before the carrying of the stencil original paper is started under plate-making mode thus preventing useless consumption of the carrying material. |
