PURPOSE:To aim at prolonging the life of a mechanical brake and the like by reducing the hydraulic force from a drive means to a discharge capacity adjusting means in order to reduce the discharge capacity of a hydraulic pump on the basis of brake operation. CONSTITUTION:A controller 29 rotates an electric motor 17b according to the operating quantity of a brake pedal 11, tilts an inching lever 20, and reduces the pressure of a pilot fluid flowing into a cam plate braking cylinder 13. Accordingly, the cam plate of a running hydraulic pump 5 is reset on the neutral side, the discharge capacity of the pump 5 is reduced by that angle, the engine speed of running hydraulic motors Lm, Rm is lowered, and the hydraulic motors Lm, Rm continue their rotation by their own energy, thereby actuating a mechan ical brake. As a result, the frictional force applied to a brake pad and a brake shoe is extremely small, and thereby the degradation, damage, and the like of these parts are suppressed. |
