发明名称 LIGHT WAVEGUIDE TYPE VARIABLE WAVELENGTH LASER
摘要 PURPOSE:To enable the stable control in variable wavelength to be assured by a method wherein a heating metallic film is bonded onto a ring type photoresonator thereby enabling the temperature of a part of the resonator to be controlled. CONSTITUTION:A waveguide with Er added thereto is provided on a quartz glass as a core layer on an Si substrate 1 while a heating chrome film 4 is evaporated on a ring type resonator 2. The Er is excited by feeding the resonator 2 with the output from a pumping semiconductor laser 3 through a coupling waveguide 6. When the chrome film 4 is supplied with power, the refractive index of the core layer is changed so as to change the resonating wavelength of the resonator 2, resultantly, the laser oscillation wavelength. Through these procedures, the title compact light waveguide type variable wavelength laser easily controllable and in stable frequency can be manufactured.
