A device for connecting the side frame and the bottom of a pull-out element for furniture or the like, in particular a drawer, has a hollow rail of approximately U-shaped cross-section, with an opening lying downwards in the installed position. This hollow rail enables a mechanically secure and visually advantageous connection of the side frame and the bottom of the pull-out element, while at the same time accommodating the guide system of the pull-out element. The hollow rail has an inner flange with at least one joining web, arranged externally thereon, for the bottom of the pull-out element, an upper web with at least one connecting web, arranged on its upper side, for the side frame of the pull-out element, and furthermore an outer flange as a cover, the hollow rail receiving in its inner space the guide rails of the pull-out element.
