PURPOSE:To prevent wasteful consumption of conductors and terminals by alternating the feeding amount of the end of a conductor stripped at its core wire, feeding it along a feeding route, checking its stripped state by a sensor, and feeding the conductor at the feeding amount capable of obtaining a satisfactory detection value. CONSTITUTION:A conductor end 2 in which a conductor is cut and its cover is removed is fed along a feeding route 7 corresponding to feeding route data stored in advance in a memory while being held by holding and feeding means 3 in a direction R, passed above photoelectric switches 8a, 8b to be determined for propriety of stripping, and end-treated by an end processor. The end 2 which is normally peeled is initially used, reciprocated in directions RS while varying the conductor feeding amount in directions PQ to discover the feeding amount in which peeling is determined to be satisfactory by the switches 8a, 8b, and the conductor is fed at the feeding amount. |
