PURPOSE:To eliminate an output current ripple, to obviate a filter for removing a current ripple, etc., to provide an inexpensive and simple structure, and to obtain a portable power source to be used at a place having no AC power source facility by employing a battery having variable output current amount as a power source. CONSTITUTION:In an excited power source for producing a magnetic field of a superconducting magnet 1, a battery 11 in which an output current amount is variable is employed as the power source. For example, a variable displacement pump 13 is driven to return electrolyte 16 from a lead storage battery 11 to an electrolyte holding tank 12 to lower the level of the electrolyte 16 in the battery 11 to a lowest state, and the magnet 1 is started to be excited. As the excitation of the magnet 1 is advanced, the pump 13 is driven to raise the electrolyte level in the battery 1 to increase the output current value of the battery 1. When the level becomes a steady state, its state is held. On the other hand, when the magnet 1 is demagnetized, the pump 13 is driven to gradually lower the electrolyte level in the battery 11 to reduce the output current value reversely to the exciting operation. |
