摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate unnecessary soil of a transfer belt by nearly equalizing a distance between a manually inserted paper detecting sensor and a transfer position on a paper carrying path to a distance from a writing position to the transfer position on the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The prescribed writing position is irradiated with a laser beam to form the electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive body 14 by an electrostatic latent image forming means 18. The electrostatic latent image is developed by developing means 24Y, M, C, and B. When the trailing edge of the transfer paper P passes the manually inserted paper detecting sensor 35 and does not detect the transfer paper P, an electrostatic latent image formation stop/control means 50 stops forming an electrostatic latent image of the electrostatic latent image forming means 18. Thus, the leading edge of the developed image on the photosensitive body 14 and the leading edge of the transfer paper P correspond to each other by timing adjustment. The distance between the paper detecting position of the manually inserted paper detecting sensor 35 and the transfer position on the paper carrying path is nearly equalized to the distance from the writing position to the transfer position along with the photosensitive surface of the photosensitive body. Therefore, the entire developed image to its trailing edge on the photosensitive body 19 can be transferred in the area of a transfer paper, and the soil of the back of the transfer paper can almost be eliminated.
