PURPOSE: To search descriptive information on various features concerning a physical place specified by a user by encoding information on a video image as a pixel bit map and a color map. CONSTITUTION: In a storage device 16 a first map 13 specifying video data concerning each of plural indexes, a second map 25 specifying one index concerning each image place and additional data of each concerning the prescribed feature of the video are stored. Then the second map 25 is read out to acquire the index specified for the image place and the first map 13 is read out to acquire video data specified for the index read from the second map 25 and to transfer specified video data 17 to the video data input of a video display 11. Thereby when the user identifies the physical place of the feature sensed in a displayed image, descriptive information is obtained in response to this. |
