This invention relates to an expanded heat-insulating material containing a reduced amount of a fluorocarbon blowing agent for use in a freezer, refrigerator or the like. It is produced by stirring a mixture of a carbon dioxide adsorbent having a hydrophobic surface, a premix component containing water, and an isocyanate component. According to the expanded heat-insulating material thus produced, the amount of the fluorocarbon blowing agent to be used can be reduced since water is used as the blowing agent, while carbon dioxide generated by the reaction of the isocyanate with the water can be removed after foaming by adsorption with the carbon dioxide adsorbent, and the gas present in the bubbles becomes enriched with the fluorocarbon gas.
|
