PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electro-optic device in which an opening ratio and use efficiency of light can be improved compared to the device having a conventional structure, and which is suitable to be used for a projection type display device such as a single plate type device. SOLUTION: On a TFT array substrate which constitutes the liquid crystal device, three pixel electrodes 9r, 9g, 9b corresponding to R, G, B, respectively, are formed in a pixel opening region 42 surrounded by the region 40 where scanning lines are arranged and the region 41 where data lines are arranged. One scanning line 3 is arranged in each scanning line arrangement region 40, and two data lines of an upper layer data line 6c and a lower data line 6d are arranged in each data line arrangement region 41. The three pixel electrodes 9r, 9g, 9b have such forms that a part of a profile of each electrode is determined by dividing the pixel opening region 42 with three lines radially extending from the center of the region. The center of each microlens disposed in the counter substrate side is almost coincident with the center position of each pixel opening region 42. |
