PURPOSE:To output error information on the basis of the error detection of data due to a redundancy circuit from a memory device to the external by providing the memory device with a memory storage part having the redundancy circuit, a data error detecting part and a data error information output part. CONSTITUTION:A data error detecting/correcting circuit 13 executes error detection in data read out from the memory storage part 2 by using redundancy data read out from the redundancy circuit 3, and at the time of detecting an error, correct the data. A data error detection control part 14 controls the output of error information due to the existence of a data error, a correction variable (the number of bits), etc., obtained from the circuit 13 and an error information output part 15 outputs the error information via an error information output port 16. Namely, data error detection is executed by the redundancy data obtained from the circuit 3 in the storage part 2 and the error information is outputted to the outside through the output part 15, so that the memory device 1 with highly reliable output data can be obtained. |
