A flange (34) provided on a tubular metallic member (26) coupled by glass bonding to the glass base (28) to which the strain gage is fixed to made to contact with a receptacle step (40) formed in a housing section of a housing (12), while pressurizing a metal ring (44) in the housing section such as to cause a plastic flow of a part of the ring material into a coupling groove (42) formed in the inner peripheral surface of the housing section, thereby coupling the metal ring (44) and the housing (12).
