A temporary track or support assembly comprises a plurality of support elements (19) spaced apart along an axis and coupled together by elongate flexible elements (14, 15) e.g. ropes so that the assembly may be rolled or folded up along its length. The assembly, therefore, can be laid out along its axis when in use with the support elements resting across two adjacent parallel supports.
