A coupling element for an async time multiplexed transmission system, supplied by feed lines (6) convyes designated cells to a user line (10). The element comprises filters (11), respectively-Coupled to feed lines (6) which allow, through the cells , storage in a temporary buffer (12) connected to each filter (11) on assignment of codes in the cells to user lines. An assignment circuit (9) controls reading out of the cells from the buffers (12) on the user lines (9). The assignment circuit (9) assigns a mark to each cell. ADAVNTAGE - Reduced probability of error.
