<p>PURPOSE:To speed up printing operation by allowing a selecting means to alternatively validate blocks based on division information, causing a heating element corresponding to a black picture element included in the validated block and recording by the black element. CONSTITUTION:A picture element data counting means 122 counts picture elements corresponding to introduced picture element data, and a black picture element counting means 121 counts black picture elements contained in the picture element data. According to the results counted by the black picture element counting means 121 and the picture element data counting means 122, a division control means 131 divides a plurality of overall heating elements 111 into more than one block. Division information is supplied to a selecting means 141, which alternatively validates a minimum of one block based on this division information. The heating elements 111 corresponding to the black picture elements included in the alternatively validated block perform recording.</p> |
